TWO CARD PARTIES

In spite of the inclement weather, a very pleasant time was spent by all who attended the monthly card party held at Rongotai College last, week under the auspices of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. The Seatbun committee (convener of which is Mrs. Pettit) was in charge of tbe arrangements and provided a dainty supper. Prizes donated by Mesdames Mackie. Fellowes and Keir and Mr. Pettit were presented by the vice-president, Mrs. 11. E. Avery, to Mrs. Colquboun (bridge), Miss Mehaffey (flag bridge). Miss Christie and Mr. Gendall (“500") Messrs. Lang and Cozens were M.C.’s. Among those present were Mr, F Martyn Renner (principal of the college), Mr. L. Norton-Taylor (president of tbe parents’ association), and Mrs. Norton-Taylor, ami Messrs. Wogan ami Mackie. 'rite Ladies’ Auxiliary of Wellington East Girls’ College belli a successful card evening last week. Prizes for bridge were won by Mrs. Leith. Mrs. Clark and Mr. Cecil. I’rizes.for “500”. were won by Mrs. Page and Mr. T. Baxter. An enjoyable evening closed with a dainty supper arranged by the Lmiles’ Auxiliary.
