“Dangerous Young Man” IMPRISONMENT IMPOSED Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, April 16. “He is a dangerous youug man to be at large, judging by his record,” remarked Seuior-Dctcetive Quirke in the Police Court, when John Bolton, a labourer, aged 22, was charged with being a rogue and vagabond in that he was found by night in enclosed premises, breaking and entering 11. J. Kjar’s shop in Albert Street, and tho theft of a bicycle valued at £4. Accused, who pleaded guilty to all the charges, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with hard labour on the theft charge and three months’ imprisonment with hard labour to be followed by two years’ reformative detention on the other two charges. Senior-Detective Quirke said accused had a lengthy list of previous convictions, and had been released on license from the Borstal Institute only six months ago.
Another youth who was with accused when the store was entered was dealt with iu the Juvenile Court.
