FATAL NOSE-DIVE
Australian Airman Killed (Rec. April 15, 5.5 p.m.). London, April 1.4. Pilot-Officer Adrian John WarfordTncln, aged 22, an Australian attached instructionally to the Digby Training School, crashed in a single-seater Avro which burst into flames, at East Winch, West Norfolk. The airman was killed outright and burnt beyond recognition. Eye-witnesses saw the machine, flying low, circle twice as if the pilot were seeking a landing place. Then it suddenly nose-dived.
