The Hon. Sir James Parr, Leader of the Legislative Council, will leave for Wanganui this morning, where, at the invitation of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce and farmers’ representatives. he will speak at a luncheon on the subject of “Empire Trade,” on Monday next. Sir Heaton Rhodes left Wellington last,night for the south. Mr. L. Elliott and Mr. T. Easterbrook, Auckland, are at the Hotel St. George.

Mr. R. A. Anderson, C.M.G., of Invercargill, left Wellington for the south last night. Mr. Samuel Robinson, of Brougham Street, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital Mr. W. J. Sutherland Ross, Dunedin, Mr. A. Akers, Palmerston North, and Mr. R. Bethell, Weka Pass, are at the .Royal Oak Hotel.

Captain T. Hewett, Mr. J. L. Sehniska, Auckland, and Mr. G. A. Maddisou, Hastings, and Mr. J. Lewis, Christchurch, arc at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. Wilkinson, at one time secretary of the Nelson Rock Garden Society, is a patient in the Tauranga Public Hospital, having recently undergone an operation. Mr. S. W. M. Stilling, New Zealand representative of the Australian National Travel Association, left for the south last evening. He will return to Wellington next Saturday. t

Mr. Edgar C. Feltbam, 8.A., headmaster of Kaiwarra. School, who lias been appointed to a similar position at Roseneatb, will commence his duties there at the beginning of the second primary school term.

Captain E. W. Ballantine, the wellknown writer on cricket, was a passenger on the Zealand la for Sydney yesterday. Captain Ballantine was in New Zealand with the South African cricketers. He will remain in Australia until the English cricket team arrives for its 19t>2-33 tour, and will accompany tha team on its tout,
