WELL-KEPT HANDS
Denote Personal Pride
HINTS TO REMEMBER
Kay Francis, famous film beauty, explains that ou first thought bauds may seem to have little to do with “It.” Probably nothing, however, but the eyes are a better index to a girl's personality than the bauds. ■Well-kept bauds, however, denote personal pride, and truly beautiful hands arc an asset every girl should strive to possess. First of all, explode the myth that housework ruins the hands. A girl does not have to be a “lady of leisure”
to have beautifully-groomed hands. Just remember to have a lotion, glycerine and rose water is excellent, by the kitchen sink and in the bathroom. Apply this lotion to the hands each time after drying them. Never wash the hands aud dry them without using the lotion. It is a splendid idea for the business woman to keep a bottle of lotion iu her desk at the office and follow the same rule. Beautifully kept, lustrous linger nails are absolutely essential. A girl with unkempt nails could no more have “It” than could one who wore ill-fitting clothes. The person with brittle nails will find that bathing the finger-tips iu warm olive oil every night for two weeks is a great tonic for this condition.. Then continue the warm oil bathe at least once a week. A manicure, done either by yourself or a professional, is essential at least once a week. Lemon is excellent to remove stains from the hands, aud is also a good bleaching aid. The best way to bleach the hands to remove summer sunburn is to mix almond meal with peroxide to form a paste. Apply it to the hands and arms if desired, and leave it for twenty minutes. One or two of these treatments will usually have the desired effect. Let me stress this point: Don’t he afraid to use your hands. Exercise helps to make them graceful.
