POLICE CHANGES

Transfers and Promotions

The following transfers and promotions in the Police Force have been announced by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann: —

Inspector D. Cumming, of Napier, has been promoted to the rank of superintendent to fill the vacancy at Christchurch, caused by the retirement of Superintendent Eales, and will take charge of the Christchurch district. He will be replaced at Napier by Inspector Fitzpatrick, of Greymouth. The vacancy at Greymouth will be filled by Sub-Inspector Lopdell, of Wellington, who has been promoted to the rank of inspector.
