COACHBUILDERS MEET
Association at Wellington The annual meeting of the Wellington Master Coach and Jlotor Body Builders’ Association was held this week. The president, Mr. N. Collingwood, said the association had tendered evidence before the Civic Commission in support of the contention that the building and repairing of buses could be undertaken more economically by private tender than 'n the Citv Council workshops. It was also stated by the president that the attention of the Development of Industries Board had been drawn to the scope for building motor-car and omnibus and commercial motor bodies in New Zealand. The president added that the removal of certain restrictive conditions would encourage the employment of more boys in many trades, and would help to ease the burden on many employers. It was hoped that the Government would amend the Apprentices' Act and grant relief to employers from existing contracts ol apprenticeship. . ■ The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, D.
