Bavaria has always been famed for its cultural aud art treasures, and bow deserved this reputation is has now been demonstrated by a census of museums made by the State Bureau of Statistics. The enumeration discloses tlie astonishing fact that Bavaria, with a population of but 7,500,00(1, possesses 243 museums—about one for every 30.000 inhabitants. It feels that it can justly claim to be the land of museums.
