Chemical Examination INVESTIGATION OF FOOD San Francisco. April 7. That a chemical examination of the stomach of Pliar Lap will be made was anbunced to-day by Mr. William Nielsen, veterinary surgeon, who said that the stomach and intestines had been taken to the laboratory of Dr. Karl Meyer, Director of the Hooper Foundation for Medical Research at tlw University of California. Investigation has also started of plant life which the horse may have eaten. Mr. F. N. Chisholm'. Director of Food and Drug Administration in the United States Department of Agriculture. took samples of grasses, alfalfa. shrubs, and even leaves of trees. He said that lie was particularly interested in some leaves which appeared to have been sprayed with arsenate of lead, which is used by orehardists and truck gardeners as a pest spray.
