MONOWAI AT SYDNEY Fast Trip from Wellington Cabled advice has been received that the Union Company’s liner Monowai, from San Francisco and Wellington, reached Sydney at 2 p.m. yesterday after a very smart trip. The Monowai left Wellington at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, and has thus made the fun in just under three days. The Monowai holds the record for the run from Sydney to Wellington, having made the crossing in 2 days 18 hours 43 minutes at an average speed of 18.34 knots, in January last year. BENHOLM LEAVES TAMPICO. The Federal Company has received cabled advice that the A. and A. Line chartered motor-ship Benholm, en route from New York, left Tampico on April 5 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on May 10 and here about May 15. ZEALANDIA LEAVES SYDNEY. Cabled advice has been received that the Huddart-Parker steamer Zealandia left Sydney yesterday for Wellington. She is due here next Tuesday morning. AORANGI. LEAVES HONOLULU. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that its motor-liner Aorangi, en route from Vancouver, left Honolulu on Wednesday for Suva, Auckland and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on April 17. NIAGARA AT SUVA. The Union Company has received cabled advice that its liner Niagara, from Sydney and Auckland, reached Suva at 12.30 p.m. yesterday. She was to have left there again at 6.30 p.m. yesterday for Honolulu and Vancouver, where she is due on April 22. WAIKOUAITI LEAVES SYDNEY. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that the Waikouaiti, from Newcastle, left Sydney at 5 p.m. on Thursday for Hobart to complete loading for Bluff, Dunedin. Lyttelton and Timaru. She has transhipments ex the Changte, Orford, Parrakoola, Tanda, Strathaird, Taiping. Nieuw Holland and Talleyrand. RUAHINE’S MOVEMENTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine was to bare left Bluff yesterday afternoon for Timaru, where she is due this morning to continue her Homeward loading. She will later complete at Lyttelton and Wellington, is due here on April 18, and is scheduled to clear this port finally on April 23 for London via the Panama Canal. KAPONGA LEAVES NEWCASTLE. The Union Company has received, cabled advice that the Kaponga left Newcastle on Thursday and was expected to clear Port Kembla yesterday for Wellington. She is due here next Thursday. CAMBRIDGE DELAYED. The Federal Company advises that the Cambridge has been delayed by rain and' is now scheduled to clear Wellington • finally at daybreak next Tuesday for London. Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow via Cape Horne. Montevideo ami Dakar. MARAMA LEAVES SYDNEY. Cabled advice has been received that the Union Company's Marama left Sydney yesterday for Auckland, where she is due next Tuesday morning. She will withdraw from the service on her arrival nt Auckland, and will lay up for a month for overhaul and survey. HAURAKI AT AUCKLAND. With Pacific Coast cargo for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, New Plymouth. Lyttelton. Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, the Union Company's motor-ship Hauraki reached Auckland yesterday from Los Angeles. She is due here next Wednesday. HORORATA AT SYDNEY. En route from Antwerp with basic slag for discharge at Auckland and New Plymouth, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hororata was due at Sydney yesterday. The vessel, which has come via the Cape of Good Hope, is due at Auckland about April 12. SOUTH AFRICAN CARGO. Spedding. Ltd., advise that the Swedish motor-ship Bularen is to leave Cape Town on April 15 with South African cargo for discharge at. Auckland and Wellington. She will probably call en route at Australian ports, and should reach here early in June.

WIRRAL IN PORT. To continue discharge of her cargo from New York. Galveston, Port Necher, and i’ort Arthur, the A. and A. Line chartered steame; Wirral is due at Wellington this morning from Auckland, and will berth at No. 1 north Queen s Wharf. She is expected to leave here again to-day. for Lvttelton, Dunedin, and Australia to complete discharge. The Federal Company are the local agents. THE CANADIAN CRUISER. To continue discharge of her Halifax cargo and to load for New York, Boston, and Montreal the Canadian National steamer Canadian Cruiser is due at Wellington this morning from Auckland and will berth at the Taranaki Street Wharf. She is to leave here again on Monday for Lyttelton. Tiniaru, and Dunedin, thence on April 15 via Australian ports to New York, Boston, and Montreal. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Captain W. W. Hender has taken command of the Maunganui. The Poolta recommissioned at Wellington yesterday after overhaul, and is under the command of Captain .A. S. Dalglicsh. His officers are: Chief. Mr. L. H.
