MURDER AT HOBART

Cold-blooded Crime WATERSIDER SHOT DEAD (Rec. April 5, 11.5 p.m.) Hobart, April 5. \ A cold-blooded murder was perpetrated in Harrington Street, Hobart. The victim was Charles Whelan, aged 63, a watersider living alone. He was shot dead by two men who later were seen running away from the SCC‘IIO. A neighbour heard men demanding money in the vilest language, also Whelan’s protests. He then beard a shot and a curse. After following the men for some, distance he returned and found Whelan dead.
