From Town and Country CHILD HURT AT PLAY Dominion Special Service. Falling from a chute at the esplanade on Saturday afternoon, a five-year-old boy was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital with bruises and .au injury to one of his wrists. The child apparently failed to notice a gap in the steps leading to the top of the chute, and fell to the asphalt below, a distance of about twelve feet. ' Trouble on the East Coast electrical circuit caused lights to flicker at Wanganui on Sunday night. It was stated that the trouble caused the disconnection of the Mangahao and Waikaremoana supplies, so that the Mangahao was carrying a greater load than it could support. The fault was soon located, and the connections of the two circuits remedied it. .
Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society recently on the difficulty- the flsh research committee experiences in maintaining the supply of flsh in the rivers, Mr. A. E. Hefford, chairman of that committee, said that some flsh do better in some rivers than in others, providing the stock is kept up, and also that they show better condition in the warmer water. Trouble had arisen in the past out of the faulty habit of taking flsh from one river and putting them into another. Trout was the only fish that did well practically all over New Zealand. Other fish sought for by the angler had to be closely studied by the research committee.
