In one record day over 5000 tons of produce were received, sold, and dispatched. The wholesale value of supplies sold through Smithfield exceeds £35,000.000 annually. Smithfield is open day and night for receiving meat from every quarter of the world, and it feeds 11,000,000 people daily! * -
