RACES POSTPONED
Two Eyents Decided ROTORUA MEETING By Telegraph—Press Association. Rotorua, February 12. . The Rotorua races opened in wet weather to-day, but there was a very fair attendance. The rain had not time to sink in and the track was very slippery. M’ako King came down in the first race and N, Symes, his rider, received a bruised leg. Transaction fell in tho second race, but T. Bowen, the rider, was not injured. The judicial stewards then decided to postpone the meeting until Monday, and investments were returned. The second day will be held on Tuesday. Results arc ns follow:— POHUTU IIIGHWEIGHT HANDICAP, of 100 sovs. One mile. 1 GREAT EMBLEM, 9.12 (11. Dulicu) 1 4 GOOD IDEA, 9.11 (Mcßae) 2 2 PATEENA. 9.3 ,„..(L. Dulieu) 3 Also started: 5 Wako King. 9.3; 6 Homelight, 9.0; 3 Welcome Boy, 9.0. Won by a neck. Time, Imin, 46Jsec. WAIMANGU STAKES, of 85 sovs. Weight-for-age. Six furlongs. 3 LONDON (G. Connor) 1 1 SILENE (A. Gilmer) 2 2 LAST LAP (H. Tinker) 3 Also started: 5 Valorous Knight, 6 Lady Ruthven, 4 Transaction. Won by a head. Time, Imin. 18sec.
