Sweeping Tariff Move by Germany BUTTER MAY BE HIT By Telegraph*-Press Awn.—Copyright. -. (Rec. January 20, 7 p.m.) London, January 20. The “Daily Express” Berlin correspondent says that sweeping tariff changes will be introduced to-day through an emergency decree directed against countries with depreciated currencies, particularly Britain and Denmark. It is expected that the present duty on Danish butter will be doubled. The duty also will be a blow to Australia and New Zealand as, in addition to the narrowing German market, the effect will be to increase the competition on the British market.
