Greenkeepers’ Conference

Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, January 20.

The first conference of golf greenkeepers was commenced in Palmerston North yesterday, when greenkeepers from all portions of the Dominion were present. Mr. A. Seifert was elected president of the conference. Mr. E. Bruce Levy, agrostologist to the Department of Agriculture, delivered an address on the proposed layout and work to be carried out on the Munawatu Golf Club’s course on behalf of the greens’ research committee. To-day members of the conference visited Massey Agricultural College to Inspect grass plots. The association has the support of the New Zealand Golf Council and the greens’ research committee, and It is hoped that the association will be affiliated with the Golf Greenkeepers’ Association of Great Britain and Ireland.
