WORKLESS WOMEN
Fewer Positions Offering The work of the Women’s Unemployment Committee is still being carried on, and since the holidays it has been found that the need is greater than ever. Registrations have jumped and positions offering have dropped, this being due probably to the number of families out of town for the holidays. The secretary mentions that she has women on her books capable of filling almost any and every positron, domestic workers of course .predominating. It is hoped that all those able to offer even a few hours’ work to some of these women will do so, and that homes, either in or out of town, will be offering for others, as the position is growing acute. The secretary is rt her post daily in the committee’s offices, 119 Willis Street—phone 54 —582—and will gladly answer any inquiries. The opportunity is taken also to remind the shopping public of the wellstocked shop in Willis Street, where all sorts of pleasing articles, the work of unemployed women and girls, are offered for sale.
