Late Mr. William Graham Official Wireless. Rugby,,-January 9. Mr. William' Graham, President of the Board of Trade in the last Labour Government, who died last night from double pneumonia following an attack of influenza, was only 44 years of age, and was the youngest member of the Labour Cabinet. His death is a great loss to the Labour Party, for he was one of its leading authorities on economics, and his remarkable memory and grasp of intricate statistics made him invaluable both in Parliamentary debate and departmental work. He was respected and popular with all parties, and many personal tributes have been paid to him from all political quarters. The. Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, on hearing of Mr. Graham’s death, said: “The news ponies as a great shock to me, for he 'was a lovable personality and possessed unusual ability.” ! Mr. Arthur Hendepson.j the Opposition Leader, expressed'himself distressed beyond expression, adding that Mr. Graham was held in sincere affection because he was modest, genuine, and loyal. Mr. Graham, who lost his seat in the last election, took a post in the city. Two days ago King made sympathetic inquiries regarding his condition, and has sent a telegram of condolence to the widow.
