The following are the results of the amateur boxing bouts fought at the Opera House last night as preliminaries, to the contest between Palmer and Thornton Sefton Walsh, 7st. 121 b. (Pahiatua). with a record of seventeen successive wins, was defeated by N. Stevens, ’7st. 121 b. (Feilding). by a knockrout in the second round; E. Downes. l()st. 31b. (Marton,) lost to J. Davies, lOst. 41b. (Pahiatua) ; L. Plank. lOst. 51b. (Wanganui) lost to J. Ford.-list. (Masterton); J. Luttrell (Hawke’s' Bay) and H. Reeve (Pahiaturt). lightweight champions of their respective districts, provided a good encounter, the Verdict going to Reeve. ■ Mr. J. P. Evans refereed.
