Tributes to Dr. Valintine

Eltham, December 12.,

•The respect ■ anj veneration in which Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, late Di-rector-General of 'Health, /is - held, was typified at Elthani this afternoon, when .he received a ptesenta’tion at a representative conference of health and sani-. tary Inspectors, from Wanganui to New Plymouth. Speaking on behalf or the conference. Mr. Fear, of Wanganui, said Dr. Valintine endeared himself to the whole service. He was a gentleman in the true sense of the word and always treated those under him as such. Added to this was a characteristic personal touch ahd charm. No man had done more for the public health of the Dominion than Dr. Valintine.

In the course of a feeling reply, Dr. Valintine paid a tribute to the efficiency and loyalty of the service, and urged that the control of the inilk supply should be brought under the control of the Health Department from the time It left the ccw till it reached the consumer.

The Mayor of Eltham. Mr. I. J. Bridger, also eulogised Dr. Valintine's magnificent record of service.
