SICKLY CHILDREN
Health Camp Movement OTAKI INSTITUTION Dr. Ada Paterson, director of the Division of School Hygiene, announces in connection with the health camp movement that it is expected that the Otaki buildings will be ready for occupation at the end of next month. The Health Department will be able to give some assistance in the matter of ita equipment and staff, but will-be unable to accept further responsibility in connection with the expense of running the camp. It is expected that the Wellington Children’s Health Camp Association will undertake the arrangement for the conveyance and maintenance of the children. Dr. Pater-on says that the policy with regard to this and future camps is established on the understanding that the Health Department will hand over the completed premises at Otaki to the Children’s Health Camp Association, which shall be responsible for the general camp arrangements. The ultimate selection of children to be inmates at Otaki will be carried oiit by officers of the School Medical Service, but recommendations for admission to the camp will be received by the secretary of the association.
