The judge. Mr. .1. 11. Howell, reported that some of the essays in classes B and C reached a high standard of merit, and the average was surprisingly good. The class A candidates, over 15 years of ago. wore disappointing. The judge recommended that in future entries be Invited from primary schools only and that instead of making classes according to age they be made according to standard.
