SLIPPED OFF BRIDGE
Man Fatally Injured MATE’S RESCUE EFFORTS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, December 7. At an inquest at Blackball on Lancelot Craig, aged 30, a carpenter, a native of Invercargill, a verdict of accidental death through slipping Into the Arnold River on Saturday afternoon last was returned. He was working on a temporary bridge in connection with dam construction on the hydro works contract of the Grey Power Board. Deceased struck his head on a jagged rock, fracturing his skull. A rider was added commending the heroic action of a fellow worker, Anthony Moore, who repeatedly plunged into the stream in an endeavour to save his mate.
