Completion of Wharf EXPEDITIOUS WORK Virtually completed in just over twelve months, and five months ahead of time, the reinforced concrete wharf at which the Wellington Harbour Board’s floating dock will be moored at Thorndon represents one of the greatest works of its kind undertaken in New Zealand. Flags were flying yesterday morning when the last of the concrete was poured on to the reinforcing at the outer end. in the presence of Mr. U. D. Bennett* actinr-chnirman of the Harbour Board. Mr. J. Marchbanks, chief engineer and general manager, Mr. K. Jensen, resident engineer, who has directed the construction of the wharf, and other officers of the board. News of the arrival of the dock at the Suez Canal is expected daily by the Harbour Board. It will take four days for the huge structure and its tugs to make the transit of the canal.
