TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, September 4, 1931, 4 p.m. Yesterday’s depression crossed the Dominion during Thursday night and is now centred east of the South Island. A vigorous cyclone is located off the New South Wales coast, while pressure has remained high over Tasmania. Winds moderate to strong westerly to south-westerly, veering later to northerly In the north. Seas rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong southerly winds, veering soon to north-easterly in the northern portion; sens moderate, but rising. Weather: Still some scattered showers, especially in the northern and southern extremities, but mainly fair to cloudy. Later, however, becoming unsettled again generally with further rain developing.
