JUNIOR CYCLISTS’ RACE

Championship Event Junior riders who are members of the Port Nicholson Amateur. Cycling Club, affiliated to the New Zealand Union of Cyclists, will participate to-morrow afternoon in a junior championship event over a 13}-mile course, starting from the Kilbirnie Post Office at 2.3 p p.m. sharp. Senior riders will take part in a race over the same distance after the junior event has finished. Handicaps for the two events have been declared as follow: — Junior: T. Udall, C. Crockford, O. TROTTING STAKES Metropolitan Club REDUCTIONS MADE By Telegraph—Press Association. Clu-istchureh, September 3. The Nbav Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s programme for the spring meeting in November has been issued. It shows that stakes for the three days’ meeting have been reduced by £3500. The only race for Avhich the stake has not been reduced is the trotting Derby. The others have been reduced by from £lOO to £5OO a race.
