Young Man Sent to Gaol Convicted on Tuesday of unlawful conversion of a motor-car, Eric George Pocoek, fruit packer, aged 24; Harold Leonard Dick, fellmonger, aged 20; and w illiam Herbert Webster, labourer, aged 22. appeared for sentence in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. E. Page, S.M. Webster, who had three previous convictions for theft and one for obtaining credit. by fraud, was sentenced to six months imprisonment, three months on the charge of conversion and three months on an additional charge of theft, the sentences to be concurrent. “With regard to the other two young men,” the magistrate said, “I have seen the probation officer, and he tells me that he would like to got further reports on their previous conduct from Auckland, where they are better known. I propose to remand them in custody for a wees to enable those further reports to be got.”
