CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
Woman Alleges Slander A claim for £5OO damages for slander was made by Oriele Linda Robinson, a single woman (Mr. Garbett), against Elsie Kathleen Smith, a married woman (Mr. Leicester), in the Supreme Court yesterday. The words complained of were, “You are rotten through and through.” The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, presided, and the case lasted tor the greater part of the day. The defendant pleaded justification, and made allegations against the character of the plaintiff, which were emphatic-, ally denied. Judgment was lecuved.
