Hospital Board’s Decision ESTIMATES EXCEEDED By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, August 26. With a view to reducing expenditure on benevolent relief, the North. Canterbury Hospital Board to-day decided that men working on relief works for three weeks should not be granted relief by the board in the fourth week unless family circumstances are exceptionalIt was stated that the expenditure on benevolent relief for the four months amounted to £10,238, and, taking this as a basis for the year, the vote would be over-expended by £10,714.
