Vice-Regal. Their Excellencies the Governor-Gene-ral and Lady Bledisloe will attend the representative Association football match, Auckland v. Wellington, at the Basin Reserve this afternoon. Mr. J. C. Young, Palmerston North, is at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. J. Ringland, Dunedin, and Mr. R. H. Parton, Sydney, are at the Hotel St. George. Mr. D. C. Jolly, Auckland; Mr. 1 A. J. Good and Mr. R. Stephens, Auckland, are at the Grand Hotel. •U Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to Hawke’s Bay. < Mr, H. R. Thomas, managing director of the Fur Trading Company of New Zealand Ltd. and Brodrick and Co., Ltd., has left for Auckland to connect with the Monowai on a visit to Australia. Mr. E. W. Ackland, chairman of the Wellington executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, will leave on September 12 on a trip to England. At a meeting yesterday of the executive, appreciative references were made to the valuable services given by Mr. Ackland in the interests of the association. Mr. A. T. Markman was appointed to act as chairman during his absence.
