PLANT REMOVED Dewatering Will’ Prove Costly By Telegraph—Press Association Whangarei, August 27. In pursuance of a declaration that all plant will be removed unless the men, resumed immediately, Wilson’s Portland Cement Company has removed the last pump from the mine at Hikurangi, and the engine has stopped working for the first time in many years. The workings are flooding very rapidly, and even if settlement of the dispute bo reached the work of dewatering the mine and replacing gear ■will prove costly, ana much delay will ensue before the extraction of coal can be recommenced*
