EXAM. SUCCESSES

Sunday School Union CANDIDATES’ MARKS Of the 820 Sjinday School scholars from 63. different schools who are candidates at examinations conducted by the Wellington Sunday School Union, 248 gained 80 per cent, or more marks, which entitles them to a prize. Second-class certificates were won by 328 pupils, third-class certificates by 173, and of the large number of candidates only <1 failed to gain, the 40 per cent, required for a pass. The examiners were Mrs. R. Mood, Mrs. T. H. Gill, Mrs. N. F. Callam, Miss M. C. Clachan, Mr. T. H. Gill, and Mr. H. Grocott. , .., With four different courses tor tn. schools to choose from, and each course divided into five grades, the task conifronting the examiners was not an easy one. The. union is trying at present to ‘induce schools to drop the American course and confine themselves to the Australasian and the British courses. For the first time, two schools on the union’s extension list, West Tarataln and Opaki, entered the examination. Both did well. Miss Jean A.
