An extensive cyclone has been located to-day east of East Cape. depression covering south-east Australia has deepened since yesterday, while an anti-cyclone over the Tasman Sea has gradually weakened* Winds moderate to strong; southerly In and north of Cook Strait, later veering to westerly; elsewhere variable, but shortly tending northerly and freshening. Bms rather rough north of Farewell Spit and Kalkoura; elsewhere smooth Moderate westerly and later northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Bee. freshening In the southern portion.
