ITALIAN FLYER DEAD
Was Piloting Speed Plane
Rome, August 4.
It is now revealed that Flight Captain G. Monti, who was killed on August 2, was flying one of the two new Fiat machines capable of a speed of 400 miles an hour, specially constructed for the Schneider Cup race. Salvage efforts were fruitless as the machine is lying at a depth of 300 feet.
