Glasgow Green Case Tried NINE OFFENDERS FINED London, August 4. James McGovern, M.P., and eight others were fined £3, in default 20 days’ imprisonment, for speaking on Glasgow Green. McGovern exclaimed from the dock: “I don’t want time to pay. I will go to prison,” but as McGovern’s counsel asked that a case be stated, the magistrate ordered ten days to be allowed to pay. McGovern declares his Intention of persisting In his free speech campaign.
