GERMAN SHIPPING
Further Big Amalgamation Th* negotiations which have been carried on for several months between the united concerns of the Hamburg Amerika Line and the Norddeutseher Lloyd on the one hand and the Hamburg-South America Line on the other have now been concluded (states the "Shipping World”). An aKjeoment for ten years has been signed, which provides for a community of services to South America and a sharing of profits. The directors of the Hamburg-South America Line will, accordingly, bring before the general meeting two propositions: —(1) A modification of the articles to permit that a fourth of the members of the board may be resident in Bremen, and (2) that two representatives of the Hamburg Amerika Line and two representatlves of the Norddeutseher Lloyd shall become members of the board. This agreement brings to a definite close the era of great Internal struggles in the German Shipping world, and it can now be said that the whole German shipping industry is consolidated into one bloc.
