TWO “GHOST” GIRLS
Psychic Research Tests SCIENTISTS BAFFLED Remarkable experiments, it was reported recently, were to be carried out with two new “ghost” girls at the National Laboratory for Psychic Research in London. They are Miss Frieda Weisl, a pretty young woman of 27, from Graz, in Austria, and Miss Herta Tausch, aged 23, a dark-haired Italian beauty. Both are able to. produce phenomena which, it is asserted, have mystified scientists all over the world. These were to be subjected to tests which, it is claimed, will rule out any possibility, of error. “They are really what is called poltergeists,” Mr. Harry Price, the Director of the National Laboratory for Psychic Research, said in an interview. 4 Amazing things happen when they are in a room—pictures drop from the walls —furniture moves about apparently of its own accord—crockery jumps into the air and smashes to the floor without anybody touching it visibly. _ “When these girls arrive m London they will be subjected to some of the severest tests that have ever been made. The seances will be so arranged that they will be electrically controlled. Everybody present will wear metal gloves and metal socks. Should the contact be broken in any way a bulb, so placed that everybody can see it, w'ill light up.” Mr. Price also states that Rudi Schneider, the famous bby medium from Austria, was returning to London for a series of further tests. “Remarkable experiments, have recently been made with Rudi in Paris,” Mr. Price said. “It has been discovered that he emanates some substance like a cloud, which, although it can be detected, cannot be photographed by infra-red rays. This is perhaps one of the most important discoveries ever made, and it may revolutionise a good many of our ideas about psychic investigation.” An innovation at the National Laboratory for testing mediums is a device
whereby all the dictaphones and lights used can be controlled from another room. “An operator will sit in the seance room with a telephone in front of him, and when we want the lights raised or lowered he will just give his instructions over the telephone to the control room,” Mr. Price said.
