Ltd., agents tor the White Star Line, have been advised that the new motor vessel Britannic, which sailed from New York on June 6, had on board a total of 1273 passengers. This number comprised 391 cabin, 460 tourist third class, and 422 third class, which constitute a record for cabin class passengers to or from United Kingdom this year. The tourist third cabin total is also a record for any ship this year. « RUAHINE’S PASSENGERS. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine, which is scheduled to leave Wellington at 7 a.m. to-day for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal, will take the following saloon passengers:—First class: Miss E. M, Lumley-Ellis, Miss B. Hattersley, Mr. S. T. Hudson, and Mr. T. Reynolds. Second class: Miss E. R. Campbell. Mrs. N. B. Horne, Mr. J. H. Smith, Mr? H. A. Smith, Miss G. Smith, Miss A. Smith, and Mrs. W. Tonkin, and 47 third class. ANDREA ARRIVES. Running under charter to the Shell Oil Company, tlie Norwegian motor tanker Andrea arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from Singapore, via Auckland, and berthed at the Burnham Wharf to discharge bulk oil. MATAROA IN PORT. To complete her homeward loading, the Shaw, Savill liner Mataroa is due at Wellington this morning from Lyttelton and will berth at the Pipitea Wharf. She is scheduled to clear this port finally at daybreak on July 29 for Southmapton and ■ London, ria the Panama Canal. MONOWAI AT SYDNEY. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that the R.M.S. Monowai reached Sydney at 9 a.m. yesterday from Vancouver and Auckland. She is to withdraw from the Vancouver mail service and enters the intercolonial service in place of the Marama, leaving Sydney next Fridav for Wellington and Auckland. LIVERPOOL SAILINGS. rhe Federal Company advises that the Tongariro_is now fixed to leave Liverpool on July 25 in place of the Middlesex, for Auckland, Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She will be followed by the Cornwall on August 15 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin: Northumberland on September 26 for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff, and Turakina on October 17 for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. THE CITY OF KIMBERLEY. The A. and A. Line advises that the City of Kimberley's southern cargo is to be transhipped in the Waimarino. The Waimarino is to leave Auckland next Thursday for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin, and is due here on July 26. THE BRUNSWICK. The Atlantic Union Oil Company has received advice that its Diesel-electric tanker Brunswick is due at Auckland on July 27 from Los Angeles. She has a full carjxo of bulk motor spirit for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney, and is due here about August — THE HIKURANGI. The steamer Hlkurangi reached Norfolk Island last Tuesday morning and -nas to have left again on her return trip to Auck land on Thursday night. She is due at Auckland oh Monday morning. TOFUA AT SUVA. The Union Company has received cab.ed advice that the Tofua, from Auckland, arrived at Suva at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. She is to leave there again at 5 p.m. to-day for Nukualofa, Haapal, Varna, re turning to Suva and Auckland, vhere she is due on August 3. THE MAUNGANUI. Makura, en route from San Francisco, is due at Papeete to-day. She la to leave there/Rain to-day for Rarotonga, Wellington, and Sydney, and is due here on July 27. OTAIO AT AUCKLAND. Running to the agency of the Federal Company, the New- Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-ship Ataio arrived at Auckland last night from Liverpool. She is to leave there again on Tuesday for Wellington Lvttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge, and is due here next Thursday morning. EXAMINATION RESULTS. The following are the results of the examinations conducted in June by the Marine Department:— . Mr. C. A. Spence gained his certificate as master of a foreign-going steam ship. Mr. T. B. Sinel gained his certificate as second mate on a foreign-going steam ship. Mr. M. A. McCormick gained his certificate as master, of a Home-trading ship. Messrs. G. Davies, W. H. Webling, and F. F. Relnmann gained second-class certificates as engineers (steam). Messrs. I. P. Murray and S. G. Estcourt gained third-class certificates as engineers (steam). Mr. G. E. V.' Boivin gained a first-class motor endorsement. Mr. K. H. Masters gained a second-elass certificate as a motor engineer. Mr. K. G. Dickson gained a first-class certificate as an oil engineer. Mr. J. H. Harris gained a second-class certificate as an oil engineer. Messrs. A. M. Brierley and D. W. Stronach gained certificates as oil engineers witnin restricted limits.
