A ROYAL “SPOT”
Prince George in Hotel Bar Prince George visited the saloon bar of the Wellington Hotdl in the Strand on a recent night and drank beer with some of the other visitors .(states the “Sunday Dispatch”). This happened during the interval of the Russian Ballet at the Lyceum Theatre, at which the Prince was present He was accompanied by his equerry, and had been in the hostelry for some moments before he was recognised by anyone in the crowded room. Directly it was realised that Prince George was present talk became subdued, but the natural charm of the King’s youngest son soon put everyone at ease. He chatted with two other visitors at the bar. After a few minutes’ talk with his new acquaintances, during which he learned that they were both ex-soldlers who lived in Whitechapel, Prince George invited them to drink with him. and called for three glasses of “bitter.” Then with a “Here’s luck!” the Prince raised his glass and drank to his guests before returning to the theatre.
