Championships Continued The first round of the Wellington interclub billiards championship tournament was concluded at Billiards, Limited, last night, when two games were played. The first was between H. Shanks (Wellington W.M. Club), last year's champion, and Devine (Petone W.M. Club), an old competitor in the championship. Both plgyers were a little time In settling down to their game, but when Shanks got the "feel of the table” he was quite at home. Wtih a break of 81, which he followed with another of 30, Shanks got well in the lead, and reached his 300 points when Devine’s score was ■2Ol. The second game between J. Spencer (Federal Chib) and S. Moses (G.P.O. Pastimes Club), resulted in a win for Moses by 07 points. Spencer was not in his usual form. The, final scores were: Moses, 300 points; Spencer, 203. The beat breaks were: Shanks, 81, 30, 23. 44, and 20; Devine, 35 and 22: Moses, 21 and 28. . . ■ The games for Monday evening gre as follow: —7 p.m., Hutchings, Commercial Travellers’ Club, v.
