COAL HOLD-UP

Westport Wharf Dispute NO SIGN OF SETTLEMENT By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, July 8. There is still no sign of settlement of the waterfront dispute. Rakes of trucks with coal from the Cascade and Charming Creek mines line the wharf frontage, but the wateraiders decline to transfer the coal to the Komata, and no other coals are being brought forward until these are handled. The Westport Coal Company’s Canopus is also held up pending a settlement of the trouble. ■ A statement by the Prime Minister respecting the dispute appears in the Parliamentary reports.
