Authorities Wildly Defied REFUSING TO APOLOGISE London, July 5. “I will see authorities in hell before I apologise,” said Mr. J. McGovern, M.P., addressing 10,0Q0 at Glasgow Green. , j He claimed to have been illegally ejected from the House of Commons. The sitting, he said, should have been suspended before attendants were allowed to cross the Bar and lay hands on a member. He was considering taking action against the Speaker and the Sergeant-at-Arms. The police took Mr. McGovern’s name for speaking without a nermit.
Mr. J. McGovern, Labour M.P. ' for the Shettleston Division of Glasgow, was removed from the House of Commons by force after defiance of the Speaker in a protest against the refusal of his demand for the release of prisoners sent to gaol for speaking on Glasgow Green.
