VATICAN REBUKED
Italy Resents System of Propaganda GOVERNMENT’S REPLY By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rome, June 24. The Italian Government’s official reply to the Vatican repeats its protest against the "illicit interference of the Holy See in the internal affairs of Italy,” and laments that the Holy See "insists by speeches and telegrams and appeals to public opinion abroad upon carrying these events outside their proper place.” It adds: “A greater regard should be shown for the duties imposed bn the Holy See. Privileges must not be converted into weapons against the State.”
