SOCIAL NOTES

Mr. and Mrs. A. Blakeley, Wellington, are visiting Christchurch. Miss Guthrie. Invercargill, is visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. J. Mitchell, Lower Hutt, have returned from Palmerston North. Mrs. R. A. Low is the guest of Mrs. C. A. Low, Brougham Street, Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. George R. Croll. Christchurch, will in future reside in Masterton.

Mr. David Jones. M.P., and Mrs. Jones will arrive in 'Wellington from the south early next week. Mrs. J. Delany, Christchurch, is in Wellington to connect with the Marama, which leaves for Sydney to-day. Mrs. Harold Johnston, Wellington, who is on a visit to Gisborne, returns home at the end of next week. Mr. Vivian Riddiford and • Miss Pamela Riddiford, Woburn, Lower Hutt, will leave shortly for a trip to Honolulu. Miss D. Allen, Bealey Avenue, Christchurch, who has been spending a few weeks in Wellington, has returned home. Sir Heaton Rhodes, his sister. Mrs. Willes, and Miss V. Hynes, Christchurch, will visit Wellington for the opening of Parliament.

Mr. Vincent Ward, M.P., and Mrs. Ward, who have been visiting Sir Cyril and Lady Ward, of Christchurch, have arrived in ’Wellington. Miss Stewart. Dunedin, will arrive in ■Wellington next week with her brother, the lion. W. Downie Stewart, for the session.

Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Gough and their two children, Matson's Road, Papanui, will leave by the Rangitikei from Wellington on Saturday for England. Mrs. B. C. Rutherford, who is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Derrett, "Mill Farm.” Horoi’ata, will return to Wellington this week. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Diack and Mr. A. J. Diack, jun„ Hamilton Avenue, Christchurch, will leave Wellington by the Maunganui on June 30, connecting with the Barrabool, leaving Sydney on July 8 for England.
