Ministerial. The Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways, returned to Wellington from Auckland yesterday morning. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, arrived in Wellington from Auckland yesterday morning. The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education, will return to Wellington from Christchurch this morning. The Rev. Dr. A. Boyd-Scott will leave on his return to Glasgow to-morrow. Mr. F. B. Spence, and Mr. A. F. Hudson, Sydney, are at the Royal Oak Hotel. Lieutenant-Commander Bremner, R.N., left for the north by last evening's Limited express. Mr. L. S. Thompson, of Highland Park, Wellington, has been appointed a justice of the peace. ’ j Sir James Gunson, a member of the Railways Board, returned to Auckland by the Limited express last night. Mr. A. T. Lilly, Christchurch; Mr. W. R. Brinsley, Dunedin; and Mr. V. Blennerhassett, Suva, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. W. Robertson, who recently became Under-Secretary of Lands, has been appointed chairman of the Tongariro National Park Board. Squadron-Leader N. E. Chandler, Blenheim, who has been in command of No. 3 Squadron, New Zealand Air Force, has been transferred to the reserve of officers. Mr. C. J. B. Norwood took his seat as chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board for the first time at the meeting of the board’s finance committee this week. Inspector William Eccles has been promoted to the rank of superintendent, according to a notice in the Gazette published last evening. He is at present stationed at Hamilton. Mr. Justice Frazer, and his fellowmembers of the Arbitration Court, Messrs. W. C. Prime and A. L. Monteith, will return to Wellington from the South Island this morning. Mr. R. A. Anderson, C.M.G., Invercargill, and Mr. O. Nicholson, Auckland, directors of the Bank of New Zealand, have come to Wellington to attend the ordinary general meeting of proprietors to-day. Squadron-Leader J. L. Findlay, M.C., Officer Commanding Wigram Aerodrome, who was promoted a temi>ornry Squad-ron-Leader when he went to England for a course with the Royal Air Force, about three years ago, has been confirmed iu rank. ' Mr. C. Powdrell, Napier; Mr. A. O. Wilkinson and Mr. A. N. Burns, Christchurch ; Mr. C. S. Smith, and Mr. W. Easton, Dunedin; Mr. R. Treweeke, Mr. F. Fell, and Mr. D. W. Fraser, Sydney; and Mr. W. G. Mase, Auckland, are at the Hotel St. George. Mr. F. L. Kay, M.A.. assistant Professor of Classics, at University College, Toronto, Canada, and a former student of Canterbury College, is returning to New Zealand on holiday. Due by the Mataroa, about Tuesday, he will spend his holiday with his mother. Mrs. J. L. Kay, Merivale, Christchurch.
