FUSION PROPOSALS

Confidence in Mr. Coates LOYALTY TO LEADER Confidence in the Leader of the Reform Party, Rt Hon. J. G. Coates, and the attitude he had taken up in the recent fusion negotiations, was expressed at a meeting of Reform Party supporters at Paekakariki to select a candidate for the Otaki seat on Saturday afternoon. The full text of the resolution was as follows: — “That this conference, representative of the whole of the supporters of the Reform Party in the Otaki electorate, affirms its loyalty to the Reform Party and its loyalty and confidence in its leader, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, and further that this conference heartily endorses his action in regard to fusion.” The resolution was carried unanimously and amid acclamation.
