CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE

Lower Hutt Branch The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt Women’s Chrisian Temperance Union was held in the Church of Christ, Queen’s Road, on Wednesday. There was a fair attendance, and the president, Mrs. Lopdell, was in the chair. Arrangements were made for holding a shop -afternoon, the proceeds to go to the headquarters’ fund. Reports of sick visit-ing-were given and a number of apologies received from absent members. On account of the day being Mothers' Day, Mrs. Aldersley read appropriate selections. Afternoon tea was served and the meeting closed with the Benediction.
