Youth of To-day
Sir, —The trouble in the world to-day has been largely caused through giving vouth too much latitude. Young people have been allowed far too much say in matters of late years, and it is to be hoped that a halt will bo called before it is too late. The cry of the young ones to-day is "No good to us” when asked to put their shoulders to the wheel. Their one 'craving is for a good time. Anything else can go hang. Duty, economy, hard work, are terms that have no meaning to the average youth and maiden —especially maiden —of to-day. I agree with Archbishop Julius absolutely —a tabby-cat can give points and a beating to the modern woman in regard to maternal care of their offspring. A baby’s mother to-day is too often a cow and a hot-water bottle. Cut out that ridiculous slogan of “Youth must be served,” and substitute that it is the duty of youth “to serve.” and you will cut out most of the trouble in the world to-day.—l am, etc., DISGUSTED ALSO. Wellington, May 10.
