It is hoped by the Defence authorities to start the operation of the voluntary training system, outlined in a statement by the Minister of Defence yesterday, by about the middle of next month. . DiorGeneral AV. L. 11. Sinelair-Biifgess. General Officer Commanding, will visit the garrison officers’ clubs at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, ami Dunedin within the next fortnight to explain the proposals for the running of the new system. Simultaneously each command will hold a conference of senior Territorial officers, when the details of the scheme will 1# on!lined and arrangements made for putting them into effect. It is anticipated that everything will be ready for the scheme to be made operative ami for recruiting to commence about the middle of next month.
