ROTARY CLUB EVENING

In Aid of Winter Activities

DANCING AND BRIDGE Always noted for its successful affairs, the Wellington Rotary Club held a delightful dance and bridge evening at Kirkcaldic and Stains’s last evening in aid of its winter activities. The large ballroom looked most festive with its decorations of pale pink sweet peas and bamboo. Large baskets of pink crepe paper sweet peas and ferns hung at intervals through the room. The rounded pillars were festooned with hidden coloured lights and bamboo, and on the centre lights were pale pink shades. In a warm carpeted corner many persons played bridge. Supper was served in the Jacobean Room. Iceland poppies in varying shades decorated the tables. Dr. K. T. Bowerbank, the president,

and Mrs. Bowerbank, the latter in a frock of black georgette, relieved with turquoise, received the guests in the lounge. . Miss F. Lowe, who was in charge or the door, wore a 1 model frock of black marietta patterned with palest lemon ■and jade green flowers; with this was worn jade carrings and choker. Mrs. S. Kirkcaldie was robed in a heavy black French lace frock made with a short basque. Mrs. Telford’s frock of black mariette was worn under a pink brocaded bridge coat. , . „ Mrs. Hott wore a becoming gown ot palest pink beige. , Miss Inez Connop and Mr. James Lottier gave an exhibition of the waltz and the American Fox Trot, which was greatly appreciated. Miss Connop danced in a Hollywood basqued frock of lavender taffeta and pewter lace. Mr. Mac-
